A great quote will tell you all you need to know in order to make the best decision,

There are a few things to look out for in a quote that will give you a clear indication as to the predictable quality of the work being quoted .
The Scope of Work:
A good quote will always include what has been allowed for, what needs to be done and what will be used in the project.. Make sure that the quote you're choosing has covered all the important aspects of the work you want done.
The Specifications:
These are important details of the project :
• The products used
• How and where the products are to be applied
The Process:
The quote should give you a real idea of the processes the tradesperson will use to fulfill the work. Understanding the overall process, applications and timeframes will give you a good sense of how the scope will be fulfilled.
All of this information will come in handy when comparing various quotes.. Of course, one of the most important aspects about a good quote is the person delivering it. Make sure you're happy with who is doing the work. You'll often have a good sense for the person and their professionalism, demeanor and skill. This should be strongly considered in your final choice.
Finally, it is a good idea to make sure that the person quoting for the work is not subcontracting (or pyramid contracting) to others who will actually do the work. This introduces middle men and complexities that may not serve you well in the end.

Tip:
Don't compare the final price until you've compared all of the details involved in the quote. In doing so, make sure the quotes are truly comparable in terms of the scope, specifications and process.
